Meet Kane — Your Future Best Friend in Training Kane is a very handsome, 10-month-old brown and silver Labrador Retriever mix weighing 57 pounds, and he still has some growing to do! This young guy is full of personality, affection, and that classic happy Lab spirit. Kane was a standout at his first adoption event, happily showing off his love for belly rubs, sitting politely for pets, and greeting both people and dogs with friendly enthusiasm. He truly enjoys being around others and wants to be part of whatever his humans are doing. In his foster home, Kane is learning what it means to be an inside family dog, and he’s doing great. He is crate trained, goes outside to do his business, and gets along well with other dogs—especially those his size or larger. He also respectfully coexists with an older, smaller dog in the home. Like many young dogs discovering home life for the first time, Kane is still working on his manners. He’s learning that kitchen counters aren’t snack bars and is bravely figuring out everyday household mysteries… including the strange noises that come from the TV. With consistency, patience, and positive training, Kane continues to improve every day. Kane has not yet been tested with children or cats. This sweet, goofy boy would thrive in a home ready to guide a young dog through the final stages of growing up. In return, you’ll get a loyal companion who wants nothing more than love, attention, and a place to belong. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet.
