More about Mr Shilo
Meet Mr. Shilo! He is a one-year-old, 17lb Chihuahua/dachshund mix with a heart of gold. Mr. Shilo came from a difficult situation involving 60 dogs where he often had to compete for food. Fortunately, he was rescued and has been thriving in a wonderful foster home. In his foster home, Mr. Shilo has learned to love the indoors, toys, and the company of a doggie sibling. While he was initially scared, he has blossomed into a happy energetic dog who enjoys zoomies in the yard, sitting in laps, doing and receiving belly rubs. Here are some important details to help you decide if Mr. Shilo is a good fit for your home: - Behavior: He is a bit cautious at first and needs a patient family that will give him time to warm up. - Training: He uses a doggy door but still needs help with leash training and walking. - Food: He is very food-motivated. Due to his history, he does not like to share food or treats. - Sleeping: He is happy to sleep in your bed or in a dog bed in your room. - Children: It is currently unknown how he behaves around children. Mr. Shilo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $350, which helps cover medical expenses for the rescue. If you think Mr Shilo would be a good fit for your family please complete our online application at: Application . A volunteer coordinator will contact you after reviewing your submission. *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up .
