More about Ryce Puddin' (being fostered in South Florida)
Ryce Puddin' Bio Please ensure you understand and can meet the needs of this dog before applying. Energy level: medium Potty training: house trained Fenced yard: preferred but not required Shared walls: barks but will quiet down People: all ages, best with calmer children Dogs: NO OTHER DOGS, No cats Other: Recovering from IVDD Overview Looking for a spirited companion who's ready to wag her way into your heart? Ryce Puddin' might be the perfect addition to your family. Ryce Puddin' is a gorgeous long-haired chocolate and tan piebald dapple miniature dachshund who weighs 13 lbs and is about 7 years old. She came to Little Paws when her previous owner had to move to a smaller place and worked long hours—they wanted someone with more time to shower her with the love and attention she deserves. This sweet girl's tail is always wagging, especially when it's time for walks or meals. She's an active, happy little doxie who radiates pure joy at the simple pleasures in life. Environment Ryce Puddin' has a medium activity level and loves her daily walks (short while recovering from IVDD) and playtime. She's been doing well with her potty training and has learned to use pee pads. A fenced yard would be wonderful for helping her to meander in, though it's not required if you're committed to regular walks. This girl absolutely loves her crate—it's her happy place! She'll go in on her own at bedtime and when you step out. Her previous owner crated her for up to 12 hours, so she's comfortable being alone, though we'd love to see her in a home where someone can spend more time with her. Because she's quite active for her age and loves to jump on and off furniture, she should be crated or in a playpen when left alone to keep her safe. Ryce has been recovering from IVDD and it is imperative to keep her safe from jumping, etc. This food-motivated girl loves her meals and treats! At breakfast and dinner, she waits patiently for her bowl with her tail wagging in pure happiness. She's very food motivated, which will make training a breeze, and she takes treats gently without being snatchy—though she'll definitely let you know she'd like more. Ryce Puddin' is a champion walker who loves her leash adventures. She travels well in a car. Ryce will need a patient adopter willing to continue her recovery with IVDD. She has completed crate rest and is beginning short walks. Pets & People When meeting new people, she may bark initially but warms up within minutes once she's had a chance to sniff and get acquainted. Ryce has shown aggression towards other dogs especially when food or toys are involved. She will need to be an only dog. Because of this, we will not place Ryce with small children either. Ryce Puddin' does not like cats and has a strong prey drive, so a cat-free home is a must as well. She likes to be near her human and would love to lie beside someone that works from home or is home often. Location Ryce Puddin' is available for adoption from Bay Harbor Islands, FL. Please email [email protected] with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Ryce Puddin' is $325.00.
