More about Honey

Forever home wanted, meet Honey. Honey is one of the lucky ones, found by a young animal loving couple while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. It was pretty evident she was dumped with no collar and very malnourished. She knew they were good people and stayed with them and their dogs when they made their way back to where they were staying.  They took her to a local veterinarian to be scanned for a microchip and there was none. That was on December 8th. Fast forward to Thursday December 11th and Honey would deliver 8 beautiful babies.  The couple lived in Salt Lake and were going to be headed home. They reached out to a number of rescues, and all turned them down except us! Luckily a foster home opened up where Honey and her little family were transported the following Monday. She's been a wonderful momma to her babies. It was worrisome in the beginning when she was so underweight but luckily, she was a good eater, so her milk production was good. The puppies have started to go to their forever homes and now it's Honey's turn.  Honey is such a loving, wonderful dog. A dog like this to be dumped is always a mystery. To us she is pretty close to perfect. Honey is on the smaller side, she's currently 50 pounds and probably at the size she’ll be. Over the last couple of months being in a foster home, she's really gained confidence. Now that her puppies have grown and started to go to homes, she's started to realize she doesn’t need to be the protective momma any longer and has begun to engage in play with her other foster brothers and sisters in the home.
