More about Maverick

Maverick is a handsome, 3-year-old dog who is officially ready to find his co-pilot for life! He arrived at the shelter as a local stray alongside his friend, Goose. They both arrived thin, hungry, and in need of some coat conditioning, but Maverick has proven to be a resilient soul. After some much-needed TLC, he has blossomed into a healthy, happy boy whose coat is finally regaining its shine. He has moved past his days of wandering and is now looking for a soft place to land and a family to call his own. True to his name, Maverick has a "cool under pressure" personality. He is easy-going and seems to take every new situation in stride, making him a joy to be around. While we are still getting to know him, he hasn't shown negative behaviors toward other dogs, so we are excited to begin more formal introductions with other potential canine companions soon. We also plan to see how he feels about feline friends in the near future. We eventually did make contact with his previous owner, who is not able to provide for Maverick and will not be reclaiming their dogs.  We also learned that Maverick is the father of Goose, and is an American Bulldog. If you are looking for a steady and sweet companion to join your crew, Maverick will soon be cleared for takeoff!
