Balderdash is the kind of dog you don’t fully appreciate until you spend a little time by his side. Once you do, it’s hard not to fall for him! He’s an incredibly easygoing, gentle soul who makes everything feel calm and simple. He’s a dream to handle on leash - no pulling, no fuss, just quietly following your lead and enjoying the moment with you. He has a low energy level and a laid back vibe. He seems to prefer observing the world rather than being the center of it. Balderdash isn’t interested in toys and treats don’t impress him much either. What he does love is affection! He doesn’t require a ton of attention, but when you pet him he loves nothing more than to lay down and soak it up for as long as possible. His sweetness always shines through. He’s friendly, independent in a peaceful way, and has a naturally calm presence that makes him an easy companion to have around. While he doesn’t know any tricks just yet, he takes treats gently and seems eager to connect in his own quiet way. He's also done well around other dogs in shelter playgroups. Balderdash may not be the dog who jumps up to grab attention or steals the spotlight on camera (for some reason he always seems comes across as awkward on camera!) - but he’s the one who would love to be there beside you at the end of the day: steady, kind, and content.
