MEET BABS! *Would like a cat friendBabs is one of our `Tiny Tigers`, born outside and unfamiliar with humans and our ways. A social cat in their new home is a big help to these little ones. Tiny Tigers like Babs require some extra commitment from their forever families, but pay it back with a lifetime of love! WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR NEW KITTEN*Hiding: for the best transition, we highly recommend confining Babs to a crate in an active part of the home where they can learn about their new surroundings but still feel secure in the crate, without your having to worry about “losing them” in your home. If not a crate, then definitely a small space such as a guest room or extra bathroom. [We would be happy to send you home with a loaner crate, at no charge]*Transition: This can be scary, so Babs will need time and patience as she gets acclimated to her new surroundings. She has been here for a while and now has to adjust to all of the new patterns, sounds and smells of your home.*Hands-on work from you: Babs loves food and using stinky wet food and churu treats is a great way for you to bond with you new kitten. Petting may be scary at first, so pairing food with petting can help Babs learn that hands are not a scary thing. Pairing yummy food with handling is the quickest way to teach an under-socialized kitten that petting is a good thing and it can really get that purr engine running!Babs is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped and seen by our vet team.For more information on Babs or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170.
