PHILLIP is a stunning young mixed breed dog looking for a home. He's around 1 year old and appears to be fully grown at 39 pounds although he could stand to gain a couple of pounds. Our best guess on breed is a Plott Hound/Beagle mix. He's trim and athletic and drop dead gorgeous, photos don't do him justice. This poor dog was trembling in fear in a rural shelter and needed someone to save him so we did. Phillip is all nose, he needs to sniff every single blade of grass in the yard. He's good natured but timid and will need some time to warm up. He's good with other dogs and needs a physically-fenced yard. You can meet Phillip at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
