More about Take Off (Special Needs)
Hey there, I’m Take Off, a handsome 4-year-old guy ready to cruise into my forever home. I may give you a look full of attitude now and then, but don’t be fooled. I’m really a playful lovebug underneath it all.I like to stay close to my people, whether that means hanging out nearby or curling up for some cuddles. I take my role as your helper seriously, especially when you’re doing things like dishes, so you might find me right underfoot keeping watch. I love playtime and get excited about cat tunnels, ball tracks, kicker toys, wand chasers, and anything with catnip. When pets start, I’ll often flop over and show you my belly. I enjoy a little belly rub action, but chin scratches are definitely a favorite.Since my foster works from home, I’ve gotten used to being part of the daily routine. You might find me lounging right where the keyboard should be, leaning on your arm while you work and soaking up pets. I can be quite the purring machine, and while I do enjoy lap time, it has to be on my terms. When I’m relaxing, I like to cross my front paws like a proper gentleman.I’ve got a medium energy level and really benefit from lots of interactive play. Toss me a toy or bring out a wand, and I’m ready to go. I’d love a home where my people are around a lot so I can keep you company and get the attention I thrive on. I’d do best with adults or older kids who understand cat signals. I get along with other cats, but since I’m a bigger guy who likes to wrestle, I’d do best with a confident, playful feline friend rather than a shy one. I haven’t met any dogs yet.I do have a few medical needs that are important to keep me feeling my best. I had a urinary blockage when I first came into care, so I eat special prescription food and my litter box habits need to be monitored. I also get medications mixed into my wet food twice a day to help with stress and anxiety. On top of that, I visit the vet monthly for injections that help with some sensitivity in my lower back. I handle all of this really well, especially when there’s food involved.Speaking of food, I’m definitely motivated by it, though I’ll surprise you by turning down certain treats. I might try to sneak a bite of meat or butter if it’s left out, so you’ve been warned. I do enjoy some special treats like Raw Boost Mixers and chicken sticks.I’ve come a long way since my early days in foster care. It took me some time to learn to trust, but with patience and care, I’ve grown into a more relaxed and social guy. I love being near my people and often sleep on a cozy pillow by your head at night.I’m looking for a forever family who will continue to give me patience, love, and understanding, and who will help me channel my energy in fun and positive ways. In return, I’ll be your loyal companion, your little shadow, and your daily source of entertainment. If you’re ready for a journey filled with personality, affection, and a bit of sass, I’m ready for takeoff with you.---Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat?
