Maverick is a 7-month-old mixed breed and a lively ball of energy! When he's not racing from room to room, this 26-lb pup loves to be carried in your arms. He thrives on being held close and loves cuddling up with his humans.Maverick was timid at first and needed some time to adjust to his new environment, settling in after about a week. He's house-trained and sleeps quietly in his crate after a few minutes of settling in. Maverick prefers having his humans nearby and may need a little patience as he continues to build confidence when left alone. Maverick has had a few successful playdates with other dogs, but would really benefit from continued socialization to help him feel more comfortable around other dogs. A proper introduction is recommended when making new friends, particularly with small children as he gets a bit jumpy when excited. He cannot live in a home with cats because he has shown some aggression towards cats.Like most puppies, Maverick is learning quickly and eager to please. He already knows “sit” and is working on “stay” and “lay down.” He’s a high-energy boy who thrives on activity, so he will require a home with a fenced yard where he can run and explore safely. He loves squeaky toys, bones, and his stuffed lambs, and when playtime is over, he’s happiest curled up next to his people. He's sweet, silly, and full of potential! Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
