More about Fenley

Meet Fenley Fenley is an approximately 2-year-old mixed breed sweetheart weighing about 40 pounds (he’s actually more petite than he appears in photos!). With his striking black coat accented by white on his neck, chest, toes, and a charming stripe down his snout, plus his short, incredibly soft fur, he’s as handsome as he is gentle.   Fenley was pulled from the euthanasia list this past December when a foster stepped up to save him right before euthanasia — and we are so glad she did. He has proven to be a truly special boy who just needed a second chance.   The Basics:  • Male, neutered • Up to date on vaccines and preventatives • Heartworm negative • Housebroken • Crate trained (his crate is his safe space and he sleeps there through the night) • Leash trained — he walks nicely and will stop immediately when told to stay   Dog-Friendly & Gentle Soul  Fenley has done wonderfully with two smaller senior dogs in his foster home. While he’d likely enjoy having a dog closer to his size to play with, it’s not a requirement. He has shown absolutely no aggression toward other dogs or people.  He has not had the opportunity to meet any cats.    Personality  Fenley is sweet, playful, and loves his toys. He adores pets and belly rubs and is very gentle when taking treats. He only barks in the morning when he’s ready to come out of his crate.   He allows strangers to approach and pet him but can be a little hesitant at first — he’s still building confidence. He’s a bit timid about walking on busy streets and getting in and out of the car, though he does well walking in the yard. With patience and encouragement, his confidence continues to grow.   Fenley is looking for a patient, loving home that will continue helping him blossom. He has already come so far and just needs someone to show him the world is a safe and happy place.
