This sweet guy was born on a farm where he grew up surrounded by goat kids—which explains why he sometimes thinks he's a jumping goat himself! After moving to a farm to guard chickens, this clever escape artist proved a bit too adventurous for his previous setup, and he’s now looking for a more secure situation. Leon is a goofy, social fellow who absolutely adores people and isn't shy about giving big hugs to anyone willing to get them! He's treat-motivated and knows basic commands like sit, stay, high five, and leave it—he's so smart that he even recognizes the car of the people who take him on adventures because he knows it has treats inside! He thinks Milkbones are awesome! He walks well on leash, enjoying a brisk pace in the excitement to be out and about the neighborhood. This high-energy boy is kenneled with his brother Gus and gets along well with other dogs, indoor cats, chickens, and ducks. That said, he prefers to eat his meals alone, dining in peace. Leon's absolute favorite activity is playing in the snow—he bounds around joyfully, rubs his head in the fluffy white stuff, then gives enthusiastic play bows while wagging his tail and wearing the biggest smile, as if inviting everyone to join in the fun! His ideal home would be with an active family that has older children, who can provide a secure 6-foot fence, reinforce his training, and give this friendly, goofy guy the adventures and affection he craves. This dog travels with an Interstate Health Certificate required by the USDA confirming that all the above criteria have been met. Fees: Adoption fees are determined on a sliding scale depending on age, location and transport. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. Fees for dogs adopted locally start at $400 and can range up to $700 for puppies under six months. Puppies placed on spay/neuter contracts receive $100 back when the dog is spayed or neutered.
