Buttercup - Female DOB 7/19/2025 Domestic Short Hair - Calico Buttercup "Butter" is a gentle, sweet little calico who takes a bit of time to feel comfortable in new places. She’s on the shy side and does best when she can settle in slowly, one room at a time, with a cozy cubby where she can tuck herself away and watch the world from a safe distance. She’s playful and enjoys spending time with other gentle kittens or cats, especially those who aren’t too pushy. Now that she has settled in more, and out and about in our bigger main room, we have seen that she enjoys a little wrestling match sometimes with one of the other kittens, Lucas.  Buttercup is still learning that people are safe, and she can be startled by humans moving toward her, so she’ll need a patient adopter who’s happy to let her come forward on her own terms.  She has come a long ways with accepting pets and being around all the volunteers and not running away now. She is quick now to settle in your lap when you sit on the floor and even if another cat is on you, she wants to come up and share the space and get pets as well. Buttercup will need to go home with another gentle, playful kitty, or to a home looking for a sweet companion who enjoys both playtime and cuddling.
