More about Coco
Age: approx. 6 years Weight: 54 lbs Coco was rescued from an abandoned property where she'd been living outside and foraging for food. A kind citizen took her in and is now fostering her until she finds a forever family to call her own. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Coco tested positive for heartworms and has started treatment via the slow-kill method. This doesn't restrict her activity or have side effects that can often make traditional heartworm treatment difficult. Coco and D.O.G.'s faces show a lifetime they shouldn’t have had to live — but their hearts are still full of love to give. At just 6 and 8 years old, their silver came from surviving harsh conditions, not old age. Now it’s their turn to know what ‘the good life’ feels like. A note from her foster family: She is crate trained and potty trained. She met my son and did well. She did meet my dog from a distance in the garage while she was in the exercise pen and growled. She is shy but a sweet girl who is slow to warm up. Once she feels safe, she gently paws for attention and pets. She wants to be cuddled. She’s easily startled and may hide or pull back, but she has shown zero aggression. She’s still nervous with the leash and needs slow, calm handling. Coco will do best in a quiet environment with patience and consistency. Coco's adoption fee is $275 and you can apply to meet her here: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society
