More about Franklin County / Landon / Lenny
General Notes | If you’re ready for 88 pounds of love, loyalty, and lap-dog energy, Lenny might just be your guy. Apply to adopt today!Personality | Looking for a loyal shadow, a nap buddy, a snack enthusiast, and occasional goofball all rolled into one? Meet Lenny — a big-hearted, big-bodied, big-napping kind of guy! Here’s what Lenny has to offer: Fantastic with other dogs LOVES kids he knows — gentle, cuddly, and patient Great work-from-home co-worker (he’ll never interrupt a Zoom!) House-trained and totally fine being left alone Up to date on vaccines and eager to please Story | Lenny came to us as a pup from Roswell, New Mexico (yes, he’s technically an alien) and has spent the last 2.5 years growing up in a loving home with young kids, another dog, and all the couch snuggles a Labrador could ever dream of. Now, Lenny is looking for a new forever family — not because he’s done anything wrong (he’s been a very good boy!), but because his current home has just become a little too busy for his sensitive soul. With new kids frequently in and out of the house, Lenny is feeling a little overwhelmed and would thrive in a calmer environment with a more predictable routine. He’d do best in a home where he has space to nap in peace, without a parade of tiny strangers zipping by. He’s a big boy with an even bigger heart — he just needs a little peace and predictability to shine.Other Dogs | Lenny is fantastic around other dogs and loves to play with his adoptive sister, a blue heeler mix. He's playful around other pups and does wonderfully at doggy day care.Cats | Unsure.Children | Lenny is living with young children currently that are very respectful of boundaries. It is important he be able to have his own space where 'kid energy' is not present and he is not forced to engage if he is needing time to decompress, so older children and/or a household that is not the neighborhood hang out would be best!Training | Lenny is very food moitivated and knows his basic commands! He loves treats so much, it is even noted on his vet records in all caps!Activity Level | Lenny is the perfect mix of active and chill. He’s happy to join you on an adventure, then follow it up with a well-deserved nap in the sun. He’s smart, sweet, and has just the right amount of mischief to keep life interesting (you might find your sock missing—but only because he wanted to carry it around like a treasure).Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $750 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
