*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Kumo is the kind of dog who walks into a room and immediately makes it his life's mission to be everyone's favorite person. This fluffy, medium-coated sweetheart, with wonderfully soft fur, is ready to find his forever home - and he's got A LOT of love to give. Kumo’s beloved elderly owner was diagnosed with cancer and made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him so he could get the active, attentive life he deserves. Kumo is a certified graduate of not one, but two obedience courses. He knows “sit” and takes treats like a perfect gentleman. He will happily cuddle up on the couch to watch the world go by out the window. He's also outrageously entertaining - Kumo has decided that rugs belong wherever he says they belong, and will solemnly relocate yours to a location of his choosing. Same goes for shoes. Don't worry, he won't chew them. He just likes to know where they are. And tug of war? He will growl with great dramatic flair, then hand you the toy - the soggy, well-loved side, naturally - and ask you to throw it again. - It's his love language (see his video!). Kumo is a dog of refined taste: cheese and crackers, going for a car ride, and ear scratches from literally anyone. He loves his extensive toy collection, zoomies in the yard, and conversations - Kumo loves to chat with everyone and hear the sound of his own voice. He is housebroken, leash trained with a front-clip harness, and crate trained. Brilliant enough to open doors, he'll need a stimulating home and a fence at least 4 feet tall. He's convinced every dog he meets wants to be his best friend (he's usually right), and believes every human exists specifically to pet him. He’d do best with older kids that can handle his enthusiastic play. If you're looking for a fluffy, funny, loving companion who will make every single day more entertaining, Kumo is your guy! National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
