General Notes | Liam is the sweetest hunk of joy who is ready to be your most faithful companion! This perfect boy is brimming with all the wonderful qualities Labs are known for: deep loyalty, playful energy, and a heart full of devotion. Liam is smart, eager to please, and loves to be involved in all your family activities, whether it's a trip to the park or a relaxing evening indoors. If you're looking for a steadfast, loving, and reliable best friend, Liam is the perfect partner for your life's adventures. Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.  Personality | Gentle soul with a silly personality at times. He just likes to take it all in and be a part of the action. He is very sweet and will love being able to bond with a family Story | Liam traveled to Colorado from Arkansas to find his forever home! He was well-cared for by one of our partner rescues until he could head West!Other Dogs | Liam is happy to co-exist with other pups with occasional playful bursts. He is being fostered with a 7-year-old female lab and a 3-year-old weimaraner. He has been a star at doggy day care - easy to get along with and hangs with everyone!Cats | Liam has not been cat tested - he shows particular interest in squirrel management so he may feel inclined to pester a feline friend Children | Liam is a large guy but has a pretty calm demeanor in the house. He would do well with kind children, most likely any age. He believes himself to be closer to 30 pounds, so littles may get bumped overTraining | Liam knows sit (he loves treats) and is working on other basic commands. So far he has done well keeping with toys that are his and not chewing on other things in the house. It would seem Liam is familiar in a home setting. He is potty-trained. Sleeps all night in his bed and doesn't get up until the whole family is up and moving! He is very redirectable and clearly wants to do the right thingLeash | Liam pulls a bit on leash and loves some good sniffs. He really settles in once the walk gets going and is doing well on a martingale collar. He has started to view himself as a bit of the neighborhood ambassador and wants to say hello to everyone we pass on walksActivity Level | Low to moderate. One good walk in the morning and he's ready for hanging out. He'll get the occasional energy burst around meal times especiallyHealth Notes | Liam is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education and care. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don't let this stop you from adopting this sweet guy!Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $750 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved.  Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
