More about Oso in CT - Happy & Super Sweet!

*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Meet Oso, a gorgeous Great Pyrenees mix who is as sweet as he is tall - and trust us, this gentle giant is VERY tall! With his soft, medium-length coat and his boundless big-pup energy, Oso is the kind of dog who makes every day brighter just by being in the room. Oso is crate trained and doing wonderfully learning to walk on leash, and because he is so food and attention motivated, training this big sweetheart is a joy. He soaks up every opportunity to learn and please his people! He's an inside dog at heart who loves nothing more than hanging out with his family - toys, belly scratches, cuddles, you name it. He is a big love-bug! When it comes to other animals, Oso is a champ. He jumped right into foster life alongside four dogs of various sizes and a cat, and he handled it like a pro. He's perfectly happy to coexist with cats as long as they aren't dashing around tempting him to play chase - and even then, there's no aggression, just playful enthusiasm! He gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and personalities. Oso has a medium-high activity level and would thrive with an active family who has a securely fenced yard (at least 4.5 feet). He's not a digger or an escape artist. In fact, he's deeply devoted to his people and just wants to stay close to those he loves. He's also a quieter-than-average Pyr, so the neighbors will appreciate him too! Oso is ready to be the heart and soul of his forever home. If you're looking for a tolerant, affectionate, endlessly lovable gentle giant, Oso just might be your perfect match! National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
