Bucky is a gentle 11-year-old Cocker Spaniel who depends on and adores his best friend Gizmo, an 11–12-year-old female Chihuahua. These two seniors lost their 90-year-old mom when she passed away, and heartbreakingly, none of her five adult children were willing to take them. The family even considered taking them to a shelter to be euthanized. We stepped in just in time to keep them safe. Bucky is completely toothless, but that doesn’t stop him from loving mealtime! He is also deaf, but he navigates life with calm confidence and looks to Gizmo for comfort and companionship. Both are sweet, quiet, low-maintenance, and wonderful with other dogs and cats. Because of their deep bond, they must stay together. They’ve already lost so much—being separated would be devastating. We are looking for a local foster or adopter in or near Middlesex, NC, who can offer these two a peaceful, loving home to spend their golden years side by side.
