More about Poncho II

ADOPTION PENDINGPoncho is so little and loving! His little heart longs for a family. When he first came to us from a shelter he was very timid and unsure, and he can still be that way when meeting new people. A few treats and a little patience soon overcomes that. He absolutely loves to be in your lap giving you kisses. Poncho has learned to sit for his treats and he's very good in a crate when left at home alone. He does like to remove the stuffing out of stuffed toys, but he has not been destructive in the house. He also really likes a cuddle when it rains and there is thunder. Poncho is talkative, barking at strange noises or to let you know he wants something, but his barking is not excessive. He also barks at new people who come in the house but settles down pretty soon. He can be a bit afraid of other dogs and it takes a little while for him to make friends, but he does fine with them, but he'd be fine as an only dog as well.  He walks well on leash and his house training is perfect, although he might need a refresher course in a new home. Poncho is heartworm positive but has just been treated. We expect his recovery to be smooth and he is ready to go on sleepover.
