He is incredibly loyal to his people and forms deep bonds with those he trusts. He is cautious and a bit nervous with new experiences, but thrives with patient guidance (treats help too!). He’s eager to learn, and would love a family willing to continue showing him that the world is a safe place.  Bunson truly is the perfect balance of calm companion and enthusiastic adventure buddy. Most of the time, you’ll find him happily curled up on the couch or snuggled under a warm blanket, especially on cold winter days. Outdoors is where Bunson really shines. He loves his regular walks, enjoys running, and makes a fantastic hiking and walking partner. He has thrived alongside our resident dog, especially enjoying the company of playful, patient female dogs. With the right match and slow introductions, Bunson is a wonderful dog friend. He would also do great as the only dog in the home. This dream dog can’t wait to meet the people who will love him forever. Wherever you go, he’s right there with you! He LOVES spending time outdoors, whether it’s going for walks, exploring new trails or just taking in all the sights and smells of the world around him. Bunson is an eager learner who shines during training time. He is treat-motivated and a smart guy, so he learns quickly. He thrives with patient guidance and reinforcement. Just look at his sweet smile! Bunson does best with older, considerate children who understand his gentle nature. He loves cuddling up with our teenage kids! Bunson prefers the company of female dogs and would likely do best in a home with no other male dogs. He plays a bit with our resident female dog, and she has really helped him build his confidence. With his big heart, love of adventure, and eagerness to please, Bunson is ready to find a forever home where he can be both your walking buddy and your loyal best friend.   11/15/2024 Foster Feedback: As Bunson has settled in further at our home, he's shown us more of his personality. Despite his young age, he is surprisingly calm and gentle most of the time. He rocked his crate training and now does great in his crate when we leave the house. Bunson prefers not to be alone when people are home. He LOVES to be with his people and will definitely follow us from room to room. Bunson is a great cuddler and would love to snuggle up next to you while you read, catch up on Netflix, or nap.  His favorite activity is being outside. Bunson truly lights up when he gets to go out for a walk or even just sniff around the yard. He is a great walking buddy. While he is calm most of the time, his daily walks and chewing on his bones help keep his two-year-old energy in check. He loves bones of any type but doesn't chew on anything other than his toys.  Bunson is eager to please and has done great in his training; he's a smart pup! His future adopters should use positive reinforcement training. Based on how Bunson reacts to us, we believe that he likely had some tough experiences previously (he is quite fearful of firm voices). He is a quick learner and is thrilled when he sees the training treats come out. His confidence has grown significantly now that he's realized that humans are here to love him! Bunson is a sweet, lovable guy looking for the right person to call his own!   9/21/24 Foster Feedback: Bunson is a sweet boy! He’s a pretty laid back dog, especially considering how young he is. He walks well on the leash and enjoys being outside. Bunson would make a great walking or hiking buddy! He loves being with our resident dog, whether playing, napping, or just sitting as close to her as he possibly can! We are starting to work on crate training to make sure Bunson has a space to relax and feel safe when we leave the house. He’s doing great so far and loves chewing on a bone in his crate. We are also working on some basic commands. Bunson is a quick learner and is happy to work when there is treats involved! Bunson is gentle and does well with our older kids. He’s building confidence and trust each day. He would love a family of his own!
