Channing is a sensitive little guy who needs a bit more time than most to feel safe—but once he trusts you, he’s incredibly sweet and affectionate. Channing does best with a slow introduction process and will likely need to meet his adopter a couple of times before he feels comfortable.   Once he knows you, Channing has no problem being handled and would happily spend his time curled up in your lap.   In the home, he’s generally a quiet dog and not overly reactive. He settles nicely once he knows his environment and person.   Channing also has a fun, surprisingly bold side—he’s quite entertaining to watch and doesn’t let his size stop him, especially when it comes to braving the elements. He’s not your typical delicate little dog.   Channing does enjoy other dogs, but he tends to be very focused on them and can become intense when trying to interact. His play style is more mouthy and pushy, and while he means well, most dogs don’t enjoy it and will choose to disengage. Because of this, Channing would do best as an only dog, or with a very specific, tolerant match.    Channing isn’t for everyone but in the right home, he is a fun little companion with a lot of personality.
