More about Luna

Luna  Hi there! I am Luna but my foster mom calls me LuLu. Last fall I was left in a shelter after my owners decided not to take me along when they moved away. I am not sure why this happened but I am hoping for a happy new start in a forever home soon!   I have big, round yellow eyes, a super soft grey coat and a cute little white spot on one side of my mouth. Like 40% of all cats I am polydactyl, with "thumbs" on my front feet that make me extra special.    My foster mom's favorite thing about me is my little noises! She says my meow is half meow/half squeak, and that I coo like a dove. When I am really sleepy out I snore gently (don't worry its not loud!). I also purr A LOT - more than most adult cats - especially while eating. Speaking of eating, I am happiest being gently brushed or petted while I eat - that is how I like to be spoiled :)  I love my food so much that I purr and rub my face in the dry food bowl often.    I am a bit shy and nervous after a rough year and take a little time warming up to new people and places. I promise I will begin to trust and open up to you if you are patient and let me come to you when I feel safe - it wont take too long. I am curious and like the company of humans, even if it doesn't seem like it immediately. You may find me wandering into a room with a "squeak" to remind you I'm there within a day or so. The first signs of affection I show are  rubbing against your legs and purring while you stand at the kitchen or bathroom counter. You'll know I am comfortable when I roll on my back on a bed or couch with my belly in the air. I might even scoot myself around in this position using my hind legs to get closer to you, which is absolutely adorable if I do say so myself.    I am an exemplary litter-box user and have a healthy appetite, which you may have noticed by my plump figure. I like to play on my own with small plush toys like my new little mouse, and am working on exercising a bit more. I also like cardboard scratching posts!    I can't wait to find my forever home, and I would be happiest in a quiet, calm environment. I could be the perfect companion to someone who may be lonely and looking for a sweet, affectionate cat to bring warmth and companionship to their home every day. We do not know if I have been around other animals before or not, but I might be okay in a home with gentle or older animals.    Please reach out to ask questions or learn more about Luna.
