More about Milo

LOCATION: Orem, UTDOB: 07/25/2020Milo is a loving, people-oriented boy who thrives on companionship. He’s very much a velcro dog who wants to be wherever his people are, happily following you from room to room and “helping” with whatever you’re doing. Milo is affectionate, loyal, and eager to please. He learns quickly, wants to behave, and has an incredibly soft mouth, taking treats and toys very gently.Milo tends to match the energy level of his family. He enjoys playtime and running around the yard, but he’s also perfectly happy curling up for snuggles on the couch. One of his foster family’s favorite things is watching Milo grab a toy, run through the house bucking like a bronco, and shake it around with pure joy. He loves chewing on bones, carrying toys around, and playing chase, tug, and wrestling games with dogs he trusts.Food-wise, Milo has some adorable preferences. He loves oatmeal, blueberries, apples, yogurt, toast, and especially cheese, but peanut butter is definitely not his thing. He can be picky about eating and sometimes needs patience and encouragement at mealtime, but his foster family says he is absolutely worth the extra effort.Milo is house-trained and does well in a crate. He rides nicely in the car, though he may occasionally try to move closer to his person because he loves being near his humans. On leash, he’s still a bit of a work in progress and sometimes needs guidance and reassurance.Milo does well with other dogs once he feels safe and comfortable, but introductions are very important for him. He needs slow, proper introductions to new dogs, as he can initially feel unsure. Once he knows and trusts another dog, he becomes playful, affectionate, and loves to snuggle with them. He has done especially well living with large Great Danes in his foster home. He “speaks dog” very well and truly enjoys canine companionship once relationships are established.Milo has also been around cats and has shown very little interest in them. While he loves people of all ages and has never met a stranger, he can be clumsy and may accidentally knock over small children with his size and enthusiasm. He would likely do best with older children or teenagers who can safely handle his playful energy and invest in building a relationship with him.Milo prefers women and girls slightly more than men, but he absolutely loves everyone he meets. His ideal home would be with a patient, loving family where someone is home often and able to provide the affection, structure, and companionship he craves. He would thrive with people who understand that he needs time and proper introductions with new dogs, and who are willing to continue helping him build confidence.Overall, Milo is a devoted, joyful, and affectionate boy who simply wants to be loved and included. With patience, consistency, and companionship, he will make an incredibly loyal best friend.=========================To apply to adopt Milo, please fill out the application form: https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176SRGDRR adopts nationwide and offers transport options to help you find your perfect match.
