I’m not the kind of dog who bursts into the room tail-wagging and tongue out. Loud voices or fast hands can make me flinch. I prefer things calm and quiet, soft voices, steady energy, no surprises. That’s when I feel most like myself. Once I trust you? That’s when you’ll see the real me. I’ll nuzzle into your hand for pets, lean my weight against you just to be close, and maybe even roll over for a belly rub if I’m feeling extra safe. I love the gentle kind of attention! Slow scratches, soft strokes, just being near someone who gets me. I’m not in a rush. I just want a calm place, a gentle hand, and someone patient enough to let me open up on my own time. I may take a little longer to adjust but I promise, once I do, I’m all heart.
