More about Snow

After seven loyal years, Snow was surrendered to the shelter— because his humans had a baby and didn’t want to deal with his emotions over it. He was distraught, even dragged us back to the door they walked out of, still believing they’d return. This isn’t a quirky rescue story. It’s grief. Raw, unfiltered grief. And it’s the kind of heartbreak no dog should ever have to endure. We were at the shelter rescuing other dogs when we met Snow and we just couldn't leave him there so we rescued him too. A few days later, we got a good look at his teeth They looked horrible & painful, a clear indication of repeated chewing on a hard surface. The pulp and roots are exposed. This didn't occur during the four days he was at the shelter. It's sad to think of the panic he must have felt when he did this to himself, and what brought that on. Ten extractions later, he’s healing and we're learning that Snow is darn perfect. In foster care, Snow has shown us who he really is: - Completely housebroken - Moderate energy - Great on leash - Dog-friendly (especially with medium to large dogs) - Gentle with kids over 5 - No resource guarding - No fear triggers - Doesn’t like crates —but doesn’t need one He’s a couch napper, a yard zoomer, a milk bone enthusiast. He eats dry food twice a day and sleeps peacefully on the floor or couch when left alone. He thrives with canine companionship and would love a dog sibling to play with. Snow’s dream home includes: - A secure fenced yard - Older Kids to love - not a requirement - Another dog (or dogs!) to romp with - Free roam of the house - Access to the bed or couch when he wants - Endless pets and affection - Humans who understand that commitment is a promise Snow was broken by betrayal. But he’s ready to be rebuilt by love. If you’re ready to show Snow that forever means forever, he’s waiting. Snow is currently being fostered in MD.
