More about Evie (bonded pair with Seely)
Evie is Seely’s bonded sister! Out of a litter of kittens, and these two resembled each other most and seemed to enjoy hanging out. Evie was fostered with Seely for companionship while his thyroid meds stabilized and he was observed and tapered off of motility medicines. As time went on, Evie was noticed to be a little sluggish, and we tested her thyroid as well. Her case was not as severe as Seely’s, but sure enough, she was also hypothyroid! The rest of the litter has been tested and was definitely not affected. Just these two special babies! Evie is so much more than “Seely’s sister.” She is her own person! While Seely likes to pounce and explore, Evie is a snuggler. She also prefers dangling toys, and she loved her hammock while in foster! She thinks vertically. She is very busy and very smart. Her foster’s resident cats were gifted with a number of small toys, like plastic springs, that she tossed out of her enclosure! She likes to play hard, and she and Seely play wrestle all the time. Evie does have medical needs, but they are very simple. She needs mealtimes to control when her stomach is empty, and she needs the thyroid medication on an empty stomach. She is very used to being given a pill, but the pill can be crushed and mixed with water if you are uncomfortable with pilling. Timed auto feeders could easily take care of the mealtime issue! It is possible that Evie’s thyroid levels may get to a level in her lifetime where she may need less medicine or no medicine, but that’s not a guarantee. Evie has been loved by Catsnap, by her foster, and even by one of her foster’s cats, but what she really wants is her own home. These babies want to spread out! They want to have room to run, and access to their people all of the time so that they can love and snuggle. They may require a little extra care, but they are special kittens who will provide a lot of extra love and joy! Thank you for your interest in a CATsNAP cat or kitten! If you would like to meet a cat, please complete the online application located on our website catsnap.org. We do not have a walk-in facility; most of our cats are in foster homes. For this reason, we require an approved application on file before we set up a meet and greet. Completing an online application does not obligate you to adopt! We care deeply about our cats and want the best match for all involved. All CATsNAP cats and kittens are: Vaccination against Panleukopenia (Distemper), Rhinotracheitis, and Calicivirus Vaccination against Rabies (if animal is over 4 months of age) Testing for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) Initial de-worming, flea, and ear mite treatment Sterilization of the animal prior to adoption; no exceptions Micro-chipping as mandated by state law
