More about Megan (KSAR)

Meet Megan!DOB: June 2022Weight: 42 lbsDisposition: Calm, Affectionate, ObedientHistory: Found underweight and mangey on the streets of Afghanistan by KSAR - Kabul Small Animal Rescue. Taken in by TBL in June 2024 to find her forever family.Megan: The Loyal Hound Looking for a LeaderMegan is a 42 lb Beagle/Labrador mix with a passport from Afghanistan and a heart of gold. She is the ultimate "switch" dog: a serene, non-destructive house guest indoors, and a focused, scent-driven explorer outdoors. The Model House GuestAt home, Megan is the dream companion. She is chill, amiable, and completely non-destructive. She’s happy to lounge while you work and will only speak up with an "alert bark" if someone is actually at your door. The Perfect PassengerIf you love road trips, Megan is your girl. She rides beautifully in the car, sitting quietly and taking in the scenery without any fuss. The "Hound" RealityOutside, the Beagle takes over. Megan’s nose is her compass, and she has the "torque" to prove it! She leans into her walks with purpose, making a front-clasp harness a must-have for a comfortable stroll.⚠️ The Ideal Adopter: A Savvy LeaderMegan’s past adoption didn't work out because she became overly protective of her "pack" on the leash. She is so enamored with her people that she feels the need to guard them from approaching dogs and strangers. We are looking for a specific kind of owner for Megan:The "No-Coddle" Approach: Megan doesn't need "poor baby" treatment when she barks; she needs a calm, assertive leader who can provide clear boundaries.Master of Redirection: Her ideal owner is someone savvy enough to spot her "alert" cues and redirect that territorial energy before it escalates.Confidence is Key: She needs to know you are in charge of the walk, so she can relax and just be a dog.The Reward: When Megan knows she doesn't have to be the bodyguard, her sweet, gregarious personality shines. You won't find a more loyal, well-mannered, or loving companion than this Afghan traveler.Fast Facts:Vibe: Chill at home / Focused on the trail.Skills: Great with other dogs, house-trained, car-savvy.Requirement: Experienced owner, front-clasp harness, and a "ready-to-work" attitude on walks. Is Megan your next adventure partner?
