More about Whiskers

Hi… I’m Whiskers.   I’m 3 years old, and sometimes I feel a little small in this big world. Last year, I had babies. I was a good mama — I kept them safe, warm, and close until they were ready to find their own families. They all left to start their new lives. I was adopted too… and I thought I had found mine.   But that home wasn’t the right fit for me, so I came back. Starting over is hard. It’s hard not to wonder where you belong.   I’m shy. I won’t be the first to run up and greet you. I might hang back and quietly watch until I feel safe. I can seem a little standoffish with people at first, but I’ve already come such a long way. Underneath that cautious exterior, I’m a friendly girl who just needs time to trust.   Other cats make me feel comfortable and confident. I really love having a cat friend, and I need a home with another kitty to help me continue to grow. Having a buddy makes me feel like I’m not alone.   Treats are a wonderful way to win me over. A little patience, a gentle voice, and consistency mean everything to me. In the right home — a calm, understanding one — I know I’ll continue to blossom into the loving companion I’m meant to be.   It will take time.
