Meet Sugarplum! Sugarplum is a very sweet, timid young girl who is learning that the world can be a safe place. She came to us pregnant at Christmas of 2024, and through no fault of her own, she did not receive proper socialization as a puppy. Because of this, she can be fearful in new situations and is considered a flight risk. Sugarplum will need a patient, understanding adopter who is committed to helping her build confidence at her own pace. She must have another dog in the home, as she takes great comfort in canine companionship and thrives when she can follow the lead of a confident dog. She is crate trained, friendly with other dogs, and enjoys her toys once she feels secure. Sugarplum is housebroken but still needs consistent outdoor breaks. With time, structure, and kindness, she will become a deeply loyal and loving companion. Sugarplum is currently in boarding due to a lack of available foster homes, where she continues to receive daily playtime and socialization with other dogs. If you have a calm home, a securely fenced yard, and a heart for a shy dog who just needs someone to believe in her, Sugarplum could be the perfect addition to your family.
