More about Cruiser-Tiny cutie! ADOPTED 5/8/26

Cruiser is @3 years old and 14 lbs.  He came in August 2023 with a broken hip and a fractured right rear leg - he was found in the street after being hit by a car. For the hip, he had an FHO surgery and a metal plate in his leg.  Very simple exercises help - we can show you in a minute...basically stretching the injured leg which encourages him to put weight on it. Got himself a 14# 9 yr old beagle boy who looks like a puppy and a super duper retired Mom, living in Oceanside. YEA! He is skittish of people, but time in a foster home helped. He started learning house training, crate training, and leash walking. He was fine with the cats and the farm animals - horses, chickens, goats, and sheep. He is most comfortable with people when other dogs are there- especially small or medium dogs that can read body cues. He will need patience from his new owner to slowly build trust. But he is a good boy. The way to his heart is special treats - e.g one time a volunteer gave him real bacon and he was so happy he let her pet him. We're not sure of his mix - he has beagle coloring, but is smaller than a beagle; ears a bit shorter.   we adore him; he is one of our house dogs and usually sleeps on the futon in front room; comes into my bedroom to get a treat and often snag a doggie bed there with a chum.  He will steal your heart...it's a good thing...
