More about Buzz

Buzz is a 25-pound mystery mix with the soul of a cautious woodland creature and the heart of a loyal sidekick—once you’ve earned his sacred Trust Badge. He’s come a very long way, trading fear bites for kisses, side-sits, and the occasional “fine, I guess you may adore me…but don’t get wild with the snuggles.” Buzz is very clear that hugs are suspicious and unnecessary, thank you very much. His favorite part of every single day is his walk. He struts down the sidewalk like the unimpressed sheriff of a tiny town, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious, such as…people. Or bicycles. Or people on bicycles. He’ll sound the tiniest alarm bark, just to let you know he’s on duty, then carry on with his proud little trot. Buzz loves his stuffed toy, knows his commands, rides well in the car, and relaxes in his crate like it’s his personal studio apartment. He’s potty trained, cat-approved, and enjoys the company of dogs his own size—as long as everyone understands that Buzz is Buzz, and Buzz needs a little space before he blossoms. He’s not a kids’ dog, but he’s absolutely an adults-dog: the kind who bonds deeply once you take the time to show him you’re safe, steady, and patient. When that trust clicks into place, he becomes affectionate, funny, loyal, and surprisingly tender in his Buzz-ish, Buzz-approved ways. Buzz is looking for a calm, understanding home with someone who loves walks, appreciates quirky little personalities, and won’t expect him to be a stuffy teddy bear. If you’re willing to go at his pace, reassure him often, and celebrate the small victories, Buzz will be the devoted little companion you didn’t know you needed.   *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.       ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***
