Animal Shelters in Cheney, WA
Cheney has two listed animal shelters and rescue organizations, in Spokane County. The mix is fairly even between rescue organizations and animal shelters. Medical Lake and Airway Heights, both within about 15 miles, have listings of their own. A handful of places, and behind each of them a dog or cat hoping this is the week.
Cheney has two listed at the moment, and they are shown above with the ones that have photos first.
A mix of both, and the difference is worth knowing before you set out. A rescue usually places animals from a network of foster homes rather than from premises you can walk into, so you generally arrange a meeting first. A shelter or humane society more often has a facility you can visit during opening hours.
The Cheney listings all fall in Spokane County, which is worth knowing if you are checking whether a shelter takes animals from your area.
If nothing here suits, Medical Lake, Airway Heights and Sprague all have listings within about 20 miles. Each one links through from the sidebar.
Every listing here carries a phone number. Calling ahead is worth it — opening hours change, and rescues often work by appointment rather than keeping a building open.
