The Dubuque Humane Society, officially known as the Dubuque Regional Humane Society, is located in Dubuque, Dubuque County, Iowa, about 60 miles southwest of Cedar Rapids, and is one of three animal welfare organizations serving the county alongside two other area shelters and rescues. Now celebrating its 125th anniversary, the humane society helps place nearly 3,000 companion animals into new homes each year, offering adoptable dogs, cats, and small critters. It also provides community services such as lost-and-found pet assistance, a rehoming program, a foster program, and Hadley's Dog Park. The organization operates through a dedicated staff and board of directors and relies heavily on volunteers and donors to support its life-saving mission.
